Biography
Many MANY years ago I fell in love with a man that loved to play games. Needless to say I got hooked right along with him. One delimna was that we didn't seem to like the same games, so the hunt began:
The first game we played was Baldur's Gate. He would fight and I would pick up the loot and make suggestions. This didn't last very long. We really wanted to play our own characters side by side.
Then we discoverd Diablo. We played that game on a home land line for over 2 years. We had people driving 45 minutes one way to our house to play (I had the worst computer out of the bunch and most of the time when a battle started, I would get booted out of the game). Heck, my husband got so wrapped up playing with our friends one night that he forgot to pick me up from work after I called him several times. Those were great times. Lots of wonderful memories. Steve....rest in peace hun, we wouldn't have had that kind of fun without you.
When Diablo II came out, it only held our interest for about six months. A friend of ours kept on telling us about some game where you would have to go through several zones just to get your corpse and all the fun he was having. Seidian and I had a tough time justifying the money it cost every month for a game. Well I found a trililogy of EQ1 for $5. I figured if we didn't like it during the trial time, it was no big loss. All I had to do was check out the tutorial and I was sold.
We actually didn't start playing EQ until after the Planes of Power expansion. We always felt like we were behind and never seemed to find a guild that matched our RL schedule. Towrard the end of our time with EQ, we were becoming discouraged and frustrated for a variety of reasons.
Seidian then discovered Vanguard. We started watching the demos since the game hadn't come out yet and fell in absolute love with the graphics. We found ourselves a guild to join even before the last Beta was released. When beta was released and we played the first few minutes, we felt like we had graduated to the next level of gaming for us. We have never felt like we were behind the masses and have really enjoyed all of the people we have met over the last few years since playing Vanguard. We have introduced quite a few people from the other game to VG.
I have enjoyed helping in building 3 guild halls, waiting for those crazy galleons to be released and happily anticipating what Silius has up his sleeve for the next update.
