Attachment editing expanding to all spheres
|

Due to a few requests I have adjusted the attachments function to also cover spheres other then adventuring.
This basically means you can now add attachments to the Kamelott kog.

A new report called Armor Pictures has been added. It is a more graphic display of pictures of armor.

Major Upgrade to Latest Updates

I have updated the "Updated Items" report as displaying item links is now not necessary as they are included in the hover text.

It's adding items like this one, that Graye linked me, that make me want to chuck it all in.
As everything in this item database is manually entered, mostly by me, items with 16 attributes get to be a pain real fast. |

Due to prodding from an interested site user, I have modified the functionality of the hover-text displays.
They should now remain on the screen after you move your mouse off the item, and the bottom informational section has gained links allowing you to go directly to the report page from the hover-text.
This will slowly propagate to all items, and is still being tested and implemented.

Attachments Added to Armorsets

As the Armorset Report has been quite useful for grouping all sorts of items, I decided to add Attachments to it as well.
makes is very convenient to view a specific type of attachments, say Gem or Infuse, grouped together.

Monster Compendium is Updated
|
|
I have finished the update on the Monster Compendium report. It is working much quicker now and should hold up as the number of monsters increases.

The list display for the Armor Sets report has undergone a small update to help make the list easier to browse.
You can find it in the Monsters and Loots section in the Vanguard menu to your left.

All reports, search tools, and displays have been opened up to the non-registered viewing public.
If you wish to create character profiles, and tag items for your "favorites" list then you still need to be registered and logged in. |

I have decided to fully retire from Vanguard.
I am moving on to new projects that will be better served by my time, and thus I am letting my VG accounts lapse.
I attempted to make a run at singularly supporting my VG site to keep Vanguard interesting after I initially quit actively raiding, but it just turned into a big data-entry job, which is not what I wanted to get into, and begging people online for links was just becoming a disappointing drag.
My overall hope for a site driven by user submissions is a failure. I envisioned many people adding/editing a couple items to help make a comprehensive DB for all to enjoy. But only a very small handful of players ever got involved, and of them only a few ended up doing the vast majority of content work.
Sajeera, Tunk, and Qwert were the biggest site contributors, submitting many thousands of edits, quests, and content detail. Thank to you guys there is a great deal of item, quest, dungeon, and monster content for people to search from and apply to profiles.
My last-ditch effort was to try and get SoE involved, but they ignored my emails which I guess is no surprise.
My Vanguard days started in 2003, when I first registered at the new Sigil forums, I think I was like #1100 or so out of what became 250,000.
I will never say I might not come back, as one never knows about that sort of thing. But I'm pretty sure this time it's for good.
